A team of students from The University of Wisconsin recently took top honors at the Duff & Phelps YOUniversity Deal Challenge 2015. Wisconsin has a strong history in this event – this is the third time they have won the top prize!
Now concluding its sixth year, the Duff & Phelps YOUniversity Deal Challenge engages teams of college juniors from around the world to hone a broad range of skills, including mergers and acquisitions advisory, transaction opinions, transfer pricing, dispute consulting and valuation advisory. By working with team members to solve problems presented in a complex fact pattern, participants applied technical reasoning and critical thinking throughout key stages of the deal-making process. In the end, participants had a stronger perspective on how a deal comes together. Finalists received a trip to New York and the chance to compete for scholarships.
Congratulations to first-place winners Mary Hinzey, Shane Maloney, Risun Udawatta and case advisor Belinda Mucklow from The University of Wisconsin.
As the premier global valuation and corporate finance advisor, Duff & Phelps is committed to preparing the next generation of financial professionals to meet tomorrow's valuation challenges.
