One cannot completely prevent identify theft, but there are certain steps you can take to minimize the risk. Alan Brill, Senior Managing Director in the Cyber Risk practice at Kroll, a division of Duff & Phelps, recently shared a few strategies to help with identify theft protection in an interview with U.S. News & World Report.
“Many banks and credit cards allow you to set up real-time text, email or mobile app alerts, which are a useful tool for savvy consumers and offer identity theft protection. Request to be notified any time there is a transaction of more than $0 on your account,” Alan said. “You want to be notified any time that credit card is used.”
