Andrew Beckett, Managing Director and EMEA Leader in the Cyber Risk practice of Kroll, a division of Duff & Phelps, was quoted in Private Equity News saying, “over the past four years, the number of private equity clients requesting a pre-transaction vulnerability scanning to asses cyber risks has risen by 30 percent.”
In today’s digital world, data security is a top-rated concern and while a large number of private equity firms have adopted cyber due diligence, they fail to recognize the human element involved. Andrew stresses that cyber breaches have more to do with execution rather than design and advocates for companies to provide ongoing resources, along with policies and procedural training to their staff to raise awareness to better combat cyber risk.
