Ben Demonte Quoted in Insurance Business Magazine Canada on Ransomware Mitigation

When it comes to incident response plans, Ben Demonte, Managing Director and North American Leader of the Cyber Risk practice of Kroll, a division of Duff & Phelps, underscores the importance of being prepared for a cyberattack from start to finish. “You’ve got to take it from beginning to end. OK, a ransomware attack has occurred, so what do we do as an organization? Who’s going to make the decision? What systems, are we going to get back online? What are we willing to pay? Who is the outside counsel? Who is the forensic company and how soon can they start?” 

On February 21, 2020 Ben participated in a panel at the NetDiligence Cyber Risk Summit in Toronto, and his insights were featured in Insurance Business Magazine. Ben’s panel focused on ransomware evolution where he highlighted that, while a plan cannot cover everything and challenges will arise, it is crucial to have a proper incident response plan in place. Every business, no matter the size, is susceptible to an attack so it is important to be proactive and prepared.
