Tarun Bhatia appointed Managing Director in the Business Intelligence and Investigations Practice in India

Kroll (“the Company”), a global leader in risk mitigation and response solutions, today announced that Tarun Bhatia has been appointed Managing Director in the Investigations and Disputes Practice in Kroll’s South Asia office based in Mumbai, India. Most recently, Bhatia served as the Senior Director of Business Development at CRISIL (a Standard & Poor’s company), a global analytical company providing ratings, research and risk and policy advisory services, based in India.

During his 13 years with CRISIL, Tarun played an integral role in the company’s transformation from a domestic rating agency to a leading global provider of data analytics. In his most recent role, Tarun was responsible for expanding CRISIL’s work with large corporate clients including sectors such as financial services, real estate, infrastructure and Indian conglomerates. Earlier in his career with the company, Tarun moved to New York in 2003 to spearhead the company’s entry into offshoring and data analytics. During this time, the six-member team grew to 150 people covering multiple asset classes across the United States, Europe and Asia Pacific in less than two years. Tarun also led the company’s financial sector ratings analytics unit through and after the 2008 credit crisis.

Tarun started his career with SBI Capital Markets, where he was a manager with the Financial Engineering Group for two years. His achievements included being the lead banker for the very first residential mortgage-backed securitization transaction in India.

Bhatia received an MBA from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) and an undergraduate degree in Commerce from Mumbai University.
