In the 11th edition of Global Fraud and Risk Report 2019/20, data from Greater China shows that social media is a growing business risk for business leaders. Violet Ho, Senior Managing Director and Head of Greater China for the Business Intelligence and Investigations practice at Kroll, a division of Duff & Phelps, recently shared insights with listeners of RTHK’s morning news program, Hong Kong Today, on how social media activity can affect businesses negatively. Violet cited examples of how fake news released by competitors and sharing of personal politically-inclined opinions on social media by brand ambassadors can cause serious reputational damage to a company.
