A series of corporate scandals involving accounting misconduct in China have put the spotlight back on auditors. With China constantly attracting more capital injection, the audit industry has witnessed countless malpractices and regulators are now under pressure to clean it up. However, the industry currently lacks the skills and experience needed to uncover sophisticated fraud. There is, undoubtedly, a pressing need for regulations.
