Yvette Gabrielian Shares CCPA and GDPR Guidance with Compliance Matters

Yvette Gabrielian, Senior Director in the Cyber Risk practice of Kroll, a division of Duff & Phelps, published an article titled “CCPA and GDPR compliance strategies for private banks” in Compliance Matters. In the article, Yvette draws a comparison between the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and offers guidance on how private banks can get ahead of the CCPA’s implementation and be compliant.

“Although the CCPA is only supposed to have a direct effect on Californian consumers, many private banks that operate in the United States – perhaps most – may find it onerous to maintain separate processes for their Californian HNWs... If the CCPA applies to your private bank, it is imperative for you to start making efforts to comply soon. Firms that have to take both laws into account are going to have to make the most strenuous efforts to protect personal data in the next year or so.”
