Alton worked in corporate insolvency in Australia for seven years prior to moving to Singapore in 2014, where he worked on several of Singapore’s high-profile corporate insolvency and restructuring engagements. Notable assignments Alton has worked on include the receivership of Singapore Flyer Pte Ltd, liquidation of the California Fitness Clubs in Singapore, and restructuring of Hyflux Ltd, a Singapore-listed water and energy conglomerate with over USD 2.24 billion debt.
Alton joined Kroll in 2022, where he has worked on the receivership of a Singapore-headquartered global logistics group with operations throughout Southeast Asia, China, the U.S., Australia and New Zealand and over SGD 400 millon debt. Alton has also worked on the liquidation of a BVI-based cryptocurrency platform, with more than 3,000 retail customers who suffered losses of over USD 200 million. Most recently, Alton has worked on the liquidation of a plastics manufacturing group with operations in Malaysia, Thailand and China and over USD 240 million debt.
Prior to joining Kroll, Alton worked at a Big Four firm, where he was involved in the liquidation, restructuring, receivership and judicial management of public-listed companies and small-and medium-sized enterprises across various industries.
Alton formerly sat on the board of directors of FSL Holdings Pte Ltd, the sponsor of FSL Trust, a Singapore-listed business trust, which owns a diversified shipping fleet chartered to an international shipping company.
Alton holds a degree in Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia and Forensic Accounting Specialisation (CA FA) from Macquarie University. He is a Chartered Accountant in both Singapore (CA Singapore) and Australia (CA ANZ). Alton is a Member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Singapore (IPAS), Founding Member of IPAS Young Insolvency Practitioners Committee (YIPC), Member of Turnaround Management Association (TMA), Member of INSOL International, and Member of International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC).
