Dave has led and contributed to matters relating to data breaches, insider threats, malware analysis, intellectual property theft, blockchain investigations and highly specialized investigations relating to computer systems. He also helps organizations secure their usage and handling of cryptographic assets.
Dave began his career in 2016 at Duff & Phelps (now Kroll) as part of the Global eDiscovery, Digital Forensics and Information Security practice. This group became a pillar of the Kroll Cyber Risk team upon Kroll’s acquisition in 2018.
With Kroll, Dave’s work with the Cyber Risk and eDiscovery practice has underpinned disputes in numerous highly public matters. He has supported matters in which damages exceeding $1billion CAD were sought. Dave has also spent significant time developing methodology and tooling to support organizations trying to fulfill breach-notification obligations. With Kroll, Dave has assisted hundreds of organizations identify at-risk data, manage structured and unstructured datasets, and notify impacted individuals.
Dave holds a Bachelor of Applied Information Sciences in Information Systems Security from Sheridan College.
