Edward Currie

Associate Managing Director

Edward Currie is an Associate Managing Director in Kroll’s Cyber and Data Resilience business and is based in Washington, D.C.

Edward leverages more than 24 years of cyber threat intelligence experience gained through investigating some of the largest data breaches of the time, and briefing U.S. Congressional committees, the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, and the U.S. National Security Council, as well as private sector organizations, on U.S. financial infrastructure protection and cyber threat intelligence matters.

Prior to joining Kroll, Edward served as Deputy Director of Intelligence for the U.S. Capitol Police, where he led the department in multiple-source collection analysis and delivered associated intelligence and alerts of consequential threats to stakeholders, collaborating with organizational partners, leadership, and the department’s intelligence teams to analyze and assess a wide range of cyber, operational, and physical threats. 

Before that, he held the title of Assistant Inspector General for Investigations for the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where he implemented risk management and compliance strategies, leading anti-corruption and bribery programs and investigations in the Cybercrime, Criminal Intelligence & Counterterrorism, and Policy Development divisions, frequently partnering with the Domestic and International Cyber Policy, Cybersecurity & Critical Infrastructure, and Artificial Intelligence Treasury offices. 

Edward also held roles within the United States Secret Service (USSS), where he ultimately served as Deputy Special Agent in Charge for the USSS Rowley Training Center, leading new programs related to training research, policy development and next-generation training. In the USSS Cyber Intelligence Division, Edward focused on protecting the financial infrastructure of the United States from cybercriminal threats, developing a standardized system engineering program for complex challenges and a knowledge management framework for business strategies. He was also a Team Leader for conducting sophisticated cyber investigations worldwide. In addition, Ed directed and stood up the newly created Open-Source Intelligence Branch and developed the Dark Web intelligence program for the Protective Intelligence Division, leading analytical and investigative personnel in advanced tradecraft and research. Throughout his career at the USSS, Edward also served with the Counter Assault Team and Presidential Protective Division.  

Edward was a contributor to Active Defense against Cyber Threats, a major research project led by the George Washington Center for Cyber and Homeland Security.

Edward received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (U.S. National Security, Post-Soviet Politics, Economics) from Bucknell University. He also completed the Key Leadership Development Program and Leadership Coaching for Organizational Performance, both at American University, Washington, D.C.

Edward is an Executive member of the ECPC DHS Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Committee and the U.S. Secret Service Washington DC Cybercrime Task Force, and is an Agency Executive member of the Treasury Law Enforcement Council. He is on the Board of Directors for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation, is part of the National Joint Terrorism Task Force Executive Group and is on the FBI Washington Executive Board for the Joint Terrorism Task Force.
