Prior to joining Kroll, Mark served as senior manager at Deloitte. Before that, he held the title of manager at the American Appraisal Associates.
Mark has extensive experience in the determination of the fair market value of machinery and equipment, industrial real property, as well as entire operating facilities. He has performed valuations for many purposes including, but not limited to ad valorem tax, federal income tax compliance, leasing, purchase price allocation, insurance and financing. His area of expertise is in the valuation of oil refineries, petrochemical facilities, chemical plants, midstream oil and gas companies, general manufacturing, and utility and power generation facilities.
Additionally, Mark has spoken on a wide variety of property tax and valuation topics including identifying and quantifying functional and economic obsolescence and valuing oil refineries and chemical plants. He has also testified as an expert witness on behalf of the taxpayer in litigation in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Illinois, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah, as well as in in ad valorem tax appeal cases for oil refineries, power generation, petrochemical plants, midstream oil and gas companies, paper mills and manufacturing facilities.
Mark’s previous experience has included project engineering and project manager related positions, involving the coordination and compilation of various valuation services.
Mark received a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Iowa. He is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) with the American Society of Appraisers. Mark is also a member of the American Society of Appraisers and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
