He regularly works with global investment banks, private wealth management teams, engineering groups and some of the world’s best-known consumer-facing brands to understand risks, gain business insights and protect their reputations.
Prior to joining Kroll, Martin worked at a boutique investigations and business intelligence consultancy in London, where he managed assignments including third-party screenings, investigative global supply chain assessments, pre-IPO due diligence and multijurisdictional asset traces. Before that, he worked for the German foreign office in Washington and London, and an NGO in Belfast.
Working with his clients’ senior leadership, Martin designs, manages and oversees bespoke projects to create clarity in challenging environments. Recent projects include the mapping of around 2,000 corporate assets owned through opaque structures to respond to a fast-changing sanctions environment; the live-tracking of a human rights trial for a corporate considering an investment in an African state; and the remediation of a FinTech’s internal irregularities to mitigate a regulatory probe.
Martin’s expertise has been featured in articles on subjects such as terror financing and political scrutiny of East Asian M&A that were published in outlets including the Financial Times, Business Insider and industry publication InCompliance. He has spoken on a variety of panels in the UK and abroad about the intersection of political and business risks.
Martin holds an MSc in international relations from the London School of Economics. He has completed additional university-level education in Germany, the U.S. and Israel. Martin also holds an International Diploma in anti-money laundering.
