Robert Shifman is a Director in the Restructuring practice, based in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. Robert leverages over 12 years of experience in managing complex restructuring and insolvency cases across multiple jurisdictions globally. His expertise includes provisional and official liquidations, solvent wind-downs, receiverships and other advisory engagements such as security reviews and financial performance monitoring.

Robert has spent almost a decade advising clients in offshore markets including Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands. He has developed his expertise in implementing robust solutions for entities in financial distress.

Prior to moving to the Cayman Islands, Robert spent almost four years at a mid-tier full-service accounting firm working on various insolvency processes faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Australia. Robert was also seconded to the corporate finance division at this firm to work on a number of advisory mandates, including asset valuations and sell-side due diligence.

Robert is an Australian Chartered Accountant and received his Bachelor of Commerce with majors in Accounting and Human Resources Management from La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. He is a Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and a Member of the Australian Turnaround Management Association (TMA). Robert is also a Member of the Cayman Islands Recovery and Insolvency Specialists Association (RISA) and the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Professionals (INSOL).
