Roy Andrew

Managing Director

Roy Andrew is a Managing Director in the Expert Services practice, based in London. Roy leverages 30 years of experience as a chartered quantity surveyor in the construction and engineering industry.

He specializes in the provision of expert evidence in the fields of quantum and quantity surveying in relation to construction and engineering disputes.

Prior to joining Kroll, Roy served in senior positions with major national UK-based building and civil engineering contractors where he gained extensive contractual and commercial management experience. Since 2008, he has worked with major consultancy firms in dispute resolution, representing employers, contractors and sub-contractors in producing and defending engineering and construction claims. Roy has served as an independent expert over 70 times, with experience in arbitration, litigation, adjudication, dispute adjudication boards and mediation, where he has also testified.

Roy has been appointed to major high-profile disputes both domestically and internationally, involving projects in the UK, Ireland, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago, South Africa, Algeria, Norway, Russia, UAE, Qatar, Mongolia, Slovakia, Greece and Estonia. His recent experience includes sectors such as energy from waste, power, dredging, major infrastructure, oil and gas, roads, marine, ports and harbors, commercial and residential buildings and utilities.

Roy serves on the board of the Scottish Arbitration Centre and is recognised by Who’s Who legal (WWL) as a Global Elite Thought Leader.  He is also recognized as a Thought Leader in Arbitration and is listed in several prestigious categories of WWL. These include WWL Construction Expert Witnesses (2018-24), WWL Consulting Experts (2018-24) and WWL Arbitration Expert Witnesses (2022-24).

Roy holds a B.Sc. in quantity surveying from Glasgow Caledonian University, an LLM in construction law from the University of Strathclyde and a Post Graduate Diploma in international commercial arbitration and international construction contracts from the Queen Mary University of London. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Additionally, he is a member of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors and the Academy of Experts.
