Prior to joining Kroll, Ted served as Senior Vice President at Marsh Japan, one of the largest insurance broker and risk professional organization, where he led work in Enterprise Risk Management Solution and Cyber Risk Management Advisory functions.
Ted has a track record of developing best-in-class enterprise risk management frameworks, cyber risk management advisory and risk financing solutions for clients seeking not only to gain more clarity on their cyber/operational risks, but also to have foresight and early-warning capabilities to mitigate risks and avoid negative business impacts through risk finance solutions.
Ted has been featured in Nikkei, Toyo Keizai, Diamond Harvard Business Review and Nikkan Kogyo Newspapers. He has written and translated many articles and books, including "Official Guidebook about Cyber Risk Management" endorsed by Keidanren. He co-authored articles with many cyber risk and security professionals which were published by Nikkan Kogyo News Paper in 2023. Ted also co-authored "Portfolio Effect and Financial Impact with Integrated Risk Management" which was published by Diamond Harvard Business Review in 2000.
Ted holds a B.A. in business administration from Meiji University. He completed the CISO Leadership Program from Carnegie Mellon University in 2018 and completed the "Cybersecurity: Managing Risk in the Information Age" course from Harvard University in 2019. He is an adjunct Professor in Graduate School of Engineering at the University of Tokyo.
