EntropySoft has been Acquired by Salesforce

The acquisition will enable the Salesforce chatter feed to seamlessly incorporate content from both on-premise and cloud document repositories.

On February 6th Salesforce announced the acquisition of Paris-based startup EntropySoft, a fast-growing content integration SaaS provider. The EntropySoft ECM software serves as a content hub which aggregates over 40 disparate content repositories such as Documentum, Box, Filenet, SharePoint, and several others into a single access point.

The acquisition will help Salesforce position its platform offering as a repository for all content. In addition, the EntropySoft technology complements the Salesforce recent acquisitions of GoInstant, and Thinkfuse, both of which provide enterprise tools for content sharing and collaboration. This move towards providing an all-encompassing enterprise collaboration environment will help Salesforce compete with broader ECM vendors such as the pervasive Microsoft/SharePoint ecosystem.

EntropySoft was founded in 2005, and raised approximately $3.5M from Alven Capital in a single round of funding. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
