Kroll was contacted by a large public university to assess their current security program and identify how they could improve that program after experiencing an active shooter event. Our client wanted to assess not only how they responded to this security threat but also identify how to better respond in the future.
Project Outcomes
As a result of Kroll’s work:
- We were able to conduct an assessment of the incident response and develop areas of improvement for the client and provide an updated security plan to address the shortcomings.
- We assessed the physical security of the facilities, capabilities to respond to security threats, campus public safety response and social media monitoring plan
- We evaluated the current program and identified that they did not have a unified business solution but instead a siloed approach to security programs across the university. From our evaluation, we recommended an enterprise-wide security program to enhance the safety and security of the students, employees, and surrounding community.
